Holiday in Taiwan - Day 1

Day 1 - 9th August 2009

We took the morning flight to Taipei. Did the usual strolling inside perfumes & fragrances deciding which one to buy.

At T3 Departure armed with my trusty Crumpler & red hoodie.

Mr. Bear seafood meal. He usually order that cause I get really grouchy when I'm hungry and special meals get served first. So I get to nibble on the bread while waiting for mine.

My breakfast.

We finally reached!

We wanted to go by Guo Guang but ended up taking Freego by mistake. The latter seems to have a bad reputation. Nobody really recommend Freego.

At the bus

First time staying in a budget hotel. I have a thing for cleanliness. Fortunately, the hotel wasn't that bad. But maybe the bed wasn't sanitized well. I did get some rashes on my hand.

Clean!

Clean!

Clean!

Clean clean clean. I absolutely cannot live with a dirty toilet! Taipei seems to have a good share of dirty toilets. I had to control myself from drinking cold water as it makes me have to go washrooms a lot.

After getting some rest, we walked to the nearby Xi Men Ding to explore.

I never thought I say this, but I love the oyster mian xian! It's so delicious! I had a serving every night after my first taste.

This is one of my favorite food in Taipei.

Then we went over to Shilin for more food.

The Hao Da Da Ji Pai do lives up to its name. It's absolutely delicious and my favourite food in Taipei!

The smelly beancurd was such a disappointment. Did not smell at all. Hongkong's version is still the best. Win hands down.

After having our fill at Shilin, we went back to the underground mall near our MRT to explore. It's huge! They have a lot of different sections.

They have a lot, I mean, really a lot of these machines at Taipei.

This is so cute!

Off to Day 2 ...
