Universal Studios Singapore - 2nd Trip

The whole day was scorching hot!!! But I never did see a bottle of sunscreen in sight. I probably was the only one piling it on. Skin cancer, anyone? Gee...

Lazy to mapped out the whole day in detail. So here are the highlights of the day...

Finally caught the Madagascar live performance! Super nice and I got "front seats" :p

Clear shot of the penguins in action

At the carrousel

Posing with zebra

''Construction" on the street going on

Pretty fab buildings...

Love the detailing and everything of the streets...

Everything is just so pretty!

Wish that was my house...heh

Can't stop gushing about the streets. Everything is just so whimsical and chirpy. I will die of happiness if I can live off a street that look like this. Singaporeans are too uptight. To them, indulging in anything fairyland-like is considered juvenile, which is just dumb.

Candy shop ahead!

Kungfu Panda

Penguin!

Shrek!

Alex the lion!

Gloria the hippo!

Force my way up the carriage despite wearing skirt. Hehe.

Cute fountain

More cute fountain

Mr Bear hiding behind me so that he could look slimmer in the photo. Evil!

With all the cuddly wuddly...

Our lunch...

Dinner...Love the yummy mashed potato...

Castle

Egypt mummy

Cath KIdston Mook!

I got the Cath Kidston Mook! My new love! The bags are to die for!

I could scroll the pages over and over again.

The mook comes with 2 bags, each in a different size.

I think the medium is cuter and more practical. The mini one is so small to put anything. It's more like a lunch tote.

Also stock up on bird's nest aka swallow puke. Haha. The route to flawless complexion.

What I have been up to lately....

I bought a sewing machine!

It's technically not my first sewing machine, I remember having a toy sewing machine that can do real sewing as a child. And of course, in typical me fashion, I broke it. Cottage style stuffs are expensive over here, so I'm trying to do all my own soft furnishings for the future house.

My first cushion cover, made using my mama's sewing machine, which was really intimidating to use for a first time user. That's my Laura Ashley bedsheet in the background. Lovely, isn't it?

My 2nd cushion cover, sewed using my own machine.

Basket liner. It was a nightmare doing this. I forgot to leave some extra allowance and it was too tight to fit into the basket. Have to do a lot of alterations. It was crazy.

Painted the wooden block in cottage green, add on the dots and wordings. I think it looks so chirpy and brighten up my room at once. Going to hang this inside the service yard in the future. Hopefully, this will brighten up Mr. Bear mood when he does the house laundry. Hee hee.

Skincare nits & grits

I have always been interested in reading up on books related to skincare, particularly this book "Don't go to the cosmetic counter without me" which leaves me shocked on how the whole cosmetic industry function. I am proud to say I no longer get ripped off by dubious cosmetic claims. I know that:

1. Alcohol are bad for you!
This includes ethanol, denatured alcohol, ethyl alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, and sd alcohol. I remember cetyl alcohol is ok.

2. Exfoliating leads to smoother skin.

3. All skins needs a good mix of antioxidants, cell-communicating & skin identical ingredients. It doesn't matter if it's call a toner, moisturizer or serum. What matters is the ingredients.

4. Sunblock is you number 1 friend in the battle against aging and wrinkles.

5. Masks are an option in skincare. Also, spa and facials are generally useless.

6. Most importantly, expensive does not means it's better!

Shopping Buys July 2010

I've been busy with playing GTA for the past week. Finally found time to blog.

For Mr. Bear

I've bought this kind of expensive pens twice but never once for myself. Wanted to get one for myself but I don't have the habit of bringing pens out.

My new purse! Originally at $159, down to $89! Great buy indeed.

Luv the baby pinkish colour. It's soooo pretty!
