Day 3
Today was Platinum Mall Day! Even if prices have gone up considerably, I still love shopping there. There are just so many shops, not to mention the fact that everything is airconditioned! We shopped the whole afternoon there, then went back to the hotel to rest.
We had a late lunch at MBK, my favourite Korean BBQ!
Then, it was off to Asiatique to spent the evening. We took the BTS to Thaksin Saphan, then the free ferry to Asiatique.
We had dinner at this random Thai restaurant, then strolled around the area.
I think except for a few local designer shops worth taking a look, it was like an airconditioned Chatuchak. And it rained! Out of the 3 days that we can come to Asiatique, it had to rain on the 3rd night!
As soon as the rain had subsided, we took the ferry back to the BTS, then back home. Unfortunately, we ended up on the wrong tracks, and ending up further from our destination. We ended up tooking the wrong direction again when it was time to change the line. Oh gosh! After much fumbling, we finally ended up back to our area.
Bear ended up eating Macdonald's again!

Bangkok 20th -25th May 2013 Day 2
Day 2
We woke up around 8 plus, and went downstairs for our buffet breakfast. It wasn't bad, just that there wasn't any variations in the spread. I was tired on the 2nd day, sick on the 3rd day and ready to move on mood on the last day of our stay.
After a full breakfast, we went back up to our room to get ready, then back down to catch a cab to Chinatown market. I think it was because the cab stopped on the other end of the market, the quieter part, we went on the opposite route, that make the crowd manageable. But as with the area, the crowd started coming in soon after.
We spent the whole morning and early afternoon over there. Then it was back to Central World Plaza for lunch. We had our lunch at the Thai restaurant which we discovered and loved it on our previous trip.
We then went back to the hotel to put our stuffs and rest.
My initial plan was to head over to Asiatique but I wasn't feeling that well after the hardcore continuous walking at Chinatown market, so we decided to walked around the Siam Paragon area instead.
We eventually stopped at Siam Center as Bear remembered there was a Fuji there.
As it was still early when we finished our dinner, we shopped around until it was closed to closing time then head back to the hotel.
Bear had Macdonald for supper that day again!

Bangkok 20th -25th May 2013 Day 1
Day 1
Our flight was at an earthly 10.40am this round but we plonked ourselves at the airport early to have breakfast and do some shopping. We ended up at Burger King for breakfast and spent much of the time shopping and walking around the huge T1.
This time round, we have booked the window and the aisle seat, thus effectively "blocking" the middle seats. I was tilting my head up and crossing my fingers that nobody were assigned to middle seat and there wasn't! Both time on our departure and arrival flights. Gosh, I had the whole row to myself and was able to stretch out my legs. Fabulous!!!
It was an uneventful flight and we got to the airport around 12 plus, got our luggage and headed to our hotel in the cab. I have booked Holiday Inn this time round as they were having a great deal for free breakfast, internet and 30% off. The hotel was decent but not fabulous. I do preferred Marriott but the former location was soooo good, with the link to the covered sheltered walkway and plonked next to Central World Plaza. It's hard to pass up.
Our room was not ready when we reached the hotel, so we crossed over to Central World Plaza for lunch! Bear saw this huge poster near the entrance of this new steakhouse and we decided to try that out. It was really good and cheap, around 5-6 bucks for a steak set, but the portions were small.
Our next stop was at my favourite haunt Platinum Mall! To my dismay, prices have gone up, but there were still some good buys lurking around. Nowadays, thanks to the Korean trend, shops selling Liz Lisa style of clothing have popped up. I regretted not buying more! I was worried it would not fit me. I snagged the outfits on the last day and there wasn't time to go back and buy more.
After much shopping, we went up to the foodcourt for a quick break. I had the crepe from there which taste awful! I usually frequent the one at the basement but we couldn't find it and thought it had closed down. Turns out we were on the wrong side of the escalator. There's actually 2 escalators in the building at different ends.
I feel funny after eating the crepe so we went over to Pantip Plaza A & W for waffles.
Then it was the long trek back to the hotel. We en-route to Central World Plaza Isetan supermarket for some quick grocery shopping, then cross the bridge to our hotel.
After a quick break, we went over to Central World Plaza. We walked around the mall, having no idea what to eat. Eventually, we stopped at this Ramen restaurant, called Hachiban Ramen I think. I remembered seeing this restaurant on our previous trip but have never tried it. It was surprisingly good, and cheap!
The portion must not have been enough for Bear as he ended up eating Macdonald's near our hotel for supper!
