My favourite makeup

Favourite Foundation: Lunasol Skin Fusing Powder Foundation Shade OC01 in dreamy Majolica Majorca case

My first foundation was from ZA, but have since moved on to upscale choices which tends to be more finely milled. I have used Stila illuminating foundation which works really well but was recently discontinued. I tried a couple of different brands but none matched up to my expectations. That is,until I chanced upon Lunasol. It's gives an airy, radiant and glowy look with its superfine powder. However, it's expensive.

Favourite Blush:Benefit Dandelion

Although this is marketed as a highlighting powder, I like to use it as a blush. It gives off a natural soft pink look. I like to layer on with MAC powder blush for a greater effect. I tend not to experiement with different brand blushes as this one from Benefit worked great on me.

Favourite Mascara: Bourjois Glamour Ultra Curl

I usually dread taking off eye makeup as they can sometimes be such a pain in the ass tedious chore. Majolica Majorca works great but it's very very hard to remove. I recently discovered this option from Bourjois and do appreciate its ease of removal very much. I always go for drugstore brands as mascara have a short lifespan and just about every mascara works about the same for me. I like mascaras which are easy to remove and gives a volumizing effect. This one from Bourjois do lives up to my expectations. It's also a plus that its packaging is pink!

Favourite Eyeliner: Bourjois Liner Stylo

Being a klutz at drawing my eyes, I usually go for the easiest option. One of the drawback of using pencils, however, is the tendency to smudge. I find Bourjois eyeliner have a pretty good but not perfect staying power. It's takes a while to remove though.

Favourite Eyebrow Pencil: I'm currently using Relvon but am planing to switch to Rimmel. I always bought my eye pencils from drugstore brands as counter brands are such a rip off. They pretty much come from the same supplier.

Favourite Brush: Too Faced Kabuki Brush

I'm recently into using cosmetic brushes. This is my first proper brush which I got from Sephora. I have to admit I fall into the marketing gimmick at first. Something about synthetic Teddy Bear Hair bristles. It's really really really soft. And it doesn't hurt that it's pink! I find it a little too dense to apply blush but it's great for buffing.

Favourite Concealer: I've been using MAC Moisturecover which didn't work, then switch to MAC Select Cover Up which also didn't work. Seems I don't have much luck with MAC products. I wanted to try the highy raved Laura Mercier but Sephora doesn't carry it locally and I'm not going Bangkok any time soon. I'm probably going to try out Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit.

I think both brands concealer looks pretty similar, with the concept of using loose powder to set the concealer.

Favourite Lipgloss/Lipsticks: I own quite a lot from different brands. But I adore the ones from Paul and Joe, Too Faced and Chanel. I only go for colour when choosing lipsticks.

Singaore Mandai Zoo - 11th April

We went to the zoo on Good Friday and it was extremely crowded. Had to spent quite a while queuing for the tickets. But I do applaud the zoo for its good contingency plans. They handled the crowd pretty well. Some of the trams were re-route to the entrance when bad weather hits the park later in the day.

It's been quite a while since I last went to the zoo. There has been, of course, some new additions going on. It's good that they try to keep things fresh.

Splash Safari was their newly added animal show

The food looks pretty decent, but the crowd was horrible. So we went to grab a bit at good'o KFC instead.

Kidzworld were also renovated with new additions like topiary and a new carrousel ride, which I didn't get on because I didn't want to spend 4bucks on the ride and still have to squeeze with nosiy kids.

Then it started to pour heavily.....

At the tram stop waiting for the rain to stop

As soon as the rain stopped, we went straight to the boat jetty for the ride. It was earlier suspensed due to bad weather.

Cruising along the reservoir...

After the ride, we managed to squeeze some time to explore some of the other enclosure before closing time.

I didn't really take much pictures of the animals this time round. Cause I usually take a glance ot two and chuck them aside.

April Shopping Buys I

Watson's was having a bazaar sale at Funan the other day and I got the christmas notepad at only $1!

There's a lot of treasures to be found at Daiso if you dig hard, like this vintage cottage sign.

One of my favourites is the baking section, lots of basic baking equipments for very decent prices.

Cervical Cancer Vaccination

I recently attend a vaccination event for cervical cancer. I have always wanted to get vaccinated since 2006 but have always hold back due to the high prices. On average, be prepared to fork out 700 plus for the vaccination which comes in 3 doses.

Recent news however, mentioned that prices had dropped and therefore stirred my interest again. I paid around 300 plus in total for the 3 doses which is a really good bargain.

The first dose left my right arm sore and painful for 3 days. The injection actually hurts. It also left me dizzy for quite a while after the injection and nauseous for the whole day. But that's just me, since I always have a weak immunity system and a drug allergy to benzylpenicillin. More serious side effects reported includes fever, which thankfully did not hit me. There were also reports of death in rare cases (shudder) but it's really really rare I think.

I hope the 2nd dose gets better. But what's a little pain for all the benefits. Like the old saying goes, prevention is better than cure. Cliche but true.

Disney on Ice 2009-Princess Wishes

Even though I'm an avid disney fan, I have never been really interested in going for their disney on ice event. I didn't want to fork out $50 plus for the tickets. That is until I won tickets for it! I fill in for the draw and everything, but nearly forgot to post it out. So it's really really lucky.

Recently, I am on a roll. I've won 2 times for a 8 days contest almost consecutively and this time for the disney on ice contest. I lurve lucky draws :)

Ice-skating rink

The staff checking the ice during the break

Their props were really life-like, especially the cinderella carriage.

Posing for a picture after the event

The lucky draw also comes with a meet and greet session. The picture didn't came out very good though. Oh well.
But this certainly stir my interest in the event. I would definitely fork out money for front row seats next year.

Carousel @ Royal Plaza on Scotts

This was my second time at the hotel for its lunch buffet.

To be frank, I think the standard dropped drastically. The seafood was not fresh, desserts were palatable at most and the rest of the selections was mediocre. The only saving grace was the fresh sashimi. I would not go back there again.

Inside the restaurant

I was once the uninitiated but now truly a convert. I absolutely love the divine taste of sashimi. I had so much it's enough to last for a month of craving.

I always have to pose for a picture whenever there's a swirling staircase. Don't you think they are just so dreamy?

Been feeling quite down lately.

My old one broke down and I have to use my brother laptop for quite a while. Couldn't upload any photos or download my weekly gossip girl fix which sucks. Went for a couple for interviews but didn't went well. Sigh. So I got a lot of free time on hand for shopping which is bad.
