Twilight saga

I'm busy obsessing about anything to do with Edward Cullen these days. Re-reading the books and I never re-read my novels. Never.

Some interview I found online that's really funny:

Robert Pattinson on character Edward Cullen -

“When you read the book,” says Pattinson, … “it’s like, ‘Edward Cullen was so beautiful I creamed myself.’ I mean, every line is liked that. He’s the most ridiculous person who’s so amazing at everything. I think a lot of actors tried to play that aspect. I just couldn’t do that. And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that’s how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he’s a 108 year-old virgin so he’s obviously got some issues there.”

The last line got me ROFL....

I doubt anyone can portray Edward Cullen perfectly, though I think Rob do make a pretty good Edward. Edward's too perfect in the book for anyone to live up to the expectations.

But still, I can't wait for New Moon which is coming out in November!

I'm hooked on the book!

Gosh. I wish Edward Cullen is real.

But I still love you, Wentworth Miller! Even though Prison Break's over. Tee hee.

June shopping buys

I've been down with food poisioning for the past 2 days. Feeling so terrible :( Today's the 3rd day and I'm slowly recovering. Still have that acute pain in my stomach. I can't wait to get well again so that I can go and eat my favourite steak.

At 50% off! And it's made of silk.

Since that stupid avene sunscreen broke me out, I have been looking for alternatives. And I realise how hard it is to find a decent sunscreen with UVA protection, without irritating ingredients (namely like alcohol, menthol), without problematic ingredients like oxybenzone, stability of UVA protection (avobenzone have some issues with stability) and yet doesn't broke me out. It's driving me crazy.

Wisdom Tooth Part II

This is ridiculous.

How come subsidized patients get to use 100% of their medisave for surgery while private patients can only use 70%? What kind of idiotic logic is that? No wonder it's called medisave. They help you "SAVE" up all your money and keep it locked up.

Going private does not mean I am rich, it just means that the current system is inefficient. In order to get that stupid letter, you have to wait a few months to get an appointment, What if my wisdom tooth is currently infected seriously? By the time I get that stupid letter, I would have die already.

I bet it's a ploy to lock up all your money so that they can do risky investment and lose money. Even I know how risky structured products is. It's called a derivative but the performance depends on a underlying share. Derivatives are a high risk product. And they are stupid enough to invest on that. Ain't they supposed to be rise averse? Or they just can't be bothered since its not their money. Moral hazard what.

And don't even get me started on the recent hoo-ha on capital guaranteed funds. Even if you are a financial noob, think about it. How can a fixed deposit which is also capital guaranteed gives you such a low interest rate while this capital guaranteed funds gives you a much higher rate and yet claim itself also to be capital guaranteed? If you want high returns, you have to take high risk. There is no free lunch in finance. It's simple as that.

I'm just pretty annoyed I have to fork out cash for my surgery. Lucky for me, I am not that poor until I have to depend on subsidized rate. Dumb system.

On the bright side, my 1st appointment for consultation is next wed!

I want to upload all my photos but I am soooo lazy.

Wisdom Tooth

It's such a chore to find a good and *cough..cheap..cough dentist for my wisdom tooth surgery.

The clinic which I patronize for my usual cleaning quote me $600-$900 per surgery. And I got 2 wisdom tooth, meaning X2 the amount! It is exorbitant! I don't mind paying $20+ more than usual average for cleaning since my dentist does a really good job. But charges for the surgery is a bit too much.

So I'm going Alexandra hospital instead which got some good comments from the internet. Charges are lower too - $450 to $650. I'm going to be so broke from the surgery, hope it doesn't exceed 1k :( My wisdom tooth have been bothering me since my poly years and I have avoiding the issue.

I heard getting a referral letter from polyclinics is cheaper but I'm going to forgo. From what I gathered on the internet, it's .........

Step 1:
Arrange a dental appointment at the polyclinic. (takes a few months to get a slot I think). Or walk-in at 8am and hope some idiot forget to set the alarm clock and missed his appointment so that they can slot you in.

Step 2:
Arrange for an appointment at the hospital of your choice. Go there for X Ray. Arrange for the next appointment.

Step 3:
Do the wisdom tooth surgery.

Winning the lottery seems easier than trying to get a referral letter. I reckon it's a ploy to discourage you from getting subsidized rate.

But anyway, I just can't be bothered going on merry-go-round in order to do my surgery. And subsidized patients can't choose doctors! I heard if you have a good doctor, then the surgery will be a virtually painless one. But if you get a bad one..... Big brother is sending the message that if you are poor, you can't choose. What crap.

Anyway, I have decide to make an appointment at the hospital directly for the earliest time slot and get it over with. If I wait too long, I might procrastinate again and chickened out.
