Jill Stuart

Jill Stuart is coming out with its 5th anniversary mook, which is japanese for a book + magazine. In usual circumstances, I totally don't care. I adore the cosmetics but I'm not obsessed. But they are bundled with a free jill stuart makeup pouch so I'm going to get it when it comes out in Kinokuniya!

Absolute dreamy...

Mmm. I'm looking around for a nice watch since my current one is getting old. I'm pretty thrifty when it comes to watches, my budget is around $200+. It's pretty funny how my mind works sometime. I'm willing to fork out thousands for a designer bag but not for a watch. I am even more thrify when I buy cellphones. I swear it leaves Mr. Bear baffled.

Weekend Shopping

We went down to Orchard for Mr Bear Iphone maintenance and to shop. I did not intend to buy anything, but Mr Bear saw these little carebear phone holders and got them for me anyway. Now I have 5 carebears in my collection. Yeah!

Adding to my collection. Cute.

From Macdonald happy meal

I'm getting a little sick of shopping at Orchard, have to find somewhere else to shop soon. I always go ION Orchard during early afternoon since the crowd won't be so bad then. The crowd gets terrible at 4plus in the afternoon.

I wanted to have takoyaki that day but the queue was sooo long. Ended up eating one of the Hokkaido ramen which doesn't taste good. The one in Central taste so much better! Mmm.

Gossip Girl

I am so psyched Gossip Girl is coming backing for season 3. Blair looks totally chic in her getup. Can't wait!

Found this on Youtube. Final Fantasy VII One Winged Angel.

Snoopy Cafe

Look at the novelty cakes! Ain't they so cute?

I had no idea Hongkong has a Snoopy theme cafe until watching E.U. But I vaguely remember seeing them in Mongkok. My memory rarely failed me. I must have thought it was a normal cafe and dismissed it. Damn, I'm totally going the next time!

I miss the food in Hongkong. Taiwan smelly beancurd sucks to the core. It doesn't smell at all!

Snoopy novelty cakes

I want to go Tokyo Disneyland & Disneysea next year. I already had the strategy guide drawn out. Mmm, must earn money first but I'm so lazy to find a job after so many rejections and my gastric is killing me.

This is not a good year. AT ALL. I want to go Japan! :(

Just finished Sister Keeper and it sucks! Do not read it. I'm condemning the movie. What a dumb ending! I would have spent my 9bucks on something better instead of buying the stupid book.

Birkenstock & Popeye Chicken!

My new pair of Birkenstock! It's under their range called Disney for Birkies.

I like it a lot!

I heard it comes in limited stock, so I bought it on the spot. They are really pretty :) Next time can wear to Disneyland.

We specially went Singapore flyer today for my favourite Popeye Chicken. Love their mashed potato and buttermilk biscuits!

Etude house. Mr Bear got them at JB for me. Accessories all at 40% off. Great bargain.

My favourite place for takoyaki

They are really really delicious! Long queue despite going there on a weekday.

Sashimi at Isetan supermarket. I can't eat for the time being
:( I want to get well soon!

Shoppng buys from ION orchard

Short update of my recent buys

Tops from Uniqlo. I think it looks nice layered with my lace spaghetti top.

I have this fetish for pearls ever since watching Gossip Girl. Very Blair.

I cannot consume sashimi, anything cold, anything acidic, sour, spicy, anything hard to digest, fizzy beverages for the time being. Pretty bad gastric problems haunting me again. Sigh. Mr Bear promise a 10-ounce rib eye steak and bottomless coke when I get my stomach back on track. Once I recover, I am coming back with a vengeance!

Holiday in Taiwan - Shopping Buys

I bought a lot of cosmetics and books this time round.

First up: My Jill Stuart!!!

Aren't they pretty?

I got the loose powder, blusher compact, foundation compact and foundation refill. I want to buy more next time I go Hongkong, but Taiwan is definitely the cheapest!

Gift with purchase

Lavshuca. I got the loose powder, blusher, 2 lip glosses and 1 lipstick. The lipstick is so small and cute. This is a drugstore brand under Kanebo but they are really cheap, even more with the 15% discount!

Got the lace spaghetti top for layering. Skirt from Wu Fen Pu.

Accessories

Kindachi series. Comics are cheaper in Taiwan. In addition, I got it with a 10% discount.

I got this at 1/2 the price selling here. Twenties Girl at around $20 and Sister's Keeper at $10, and that's before the additional 10% discount.

Magazines. Comes with Marc Jacob tote freebie.

Mister Donut towel. This is so cute! I eat and eat a lot of donuts throughout my 5 days there just to accumulate the cards to redeem the towel.

This is a freebie from dining at Din Tai Fung

Some snacks I got from their convenience store

Holiday in Taiwan - Day 5

Day5 - 13th Aug 2009

As usual, we went to MacDonald for breakfast. Then it was off to the nearby bookstores to search for the missing volumes of the comic not found in Eslite yesterday.

After it was all done, we went down Taipei Underground Mall for some last minute pastries shopping, walked over to Guo Guang Transport Terminal to check the departure schedule, then hurried back to our hotel for some last minute freshen up and packing.

I was extremely happy to leave the hotel! Not that it was THAT bad, it was actually very decent for a budget hotel. I survived the 5 days there!

At the lift lobby

One last look at the lobby

After checking out of the hotel, we walked over to Xi Men Ding for some last minute snacking.

Along the streets of Xi Men Ding

Watson's were having a 15% discount on many drugstore cosmetic brands that day. I was so glad I didn't buy them on the first day. I did some last minute shopping and walked back to the hotel to pick up our luggage.

Stopping by for more snacking at 7-11

We had to drag our luggage to the Terminal which was a distance away. About 10 minutes away? It wasn't that bad actually, my four-wheeled luggage proves handy. We were quite lucky, as it started to drizzle when we reached there.

Our tickets to the airport. Although Guo Guang drives slower, it's better than that Freego who drives like a manic. Safer.

At the airport

We stumbled upon the nursery room inside the departure. It was done in Hello Kitty theme. Kawaii!

Inside the nursery room. it's really kawaii.

Time to go home

We are back home!

All thanks to Mr. Bear for the wonderful holiday. Although you make me stay in a budget hotel (I know I mentioned for the 13465th time already), but it was all expense paid for the air tickets, accommodation, shopping, plus all my Jill Stuart cosmetics. I really appreciate it :)

Holiday in Taiwan - Day 4

Day 4 - 12th Aug 2009

We had our breakfast at the nearby MacDonald as usual, then went off to explore the nearby bookstores. Mr Bear wanted to buy comics. Their bookstores are huge!

I was so psyched to see the Chinese version of Twilight! Apparently, Twilight = Mu Guang Zi Chen. Nice name. I thought of buying to keep but it cost the same as the English version.

No point buying something so expensive that I will not read. And Edward is called Ai De Hua. After reading Twilight, I totally think Edward is the nicest name on the planet. The name Edward rocks.

Then it was off to Hello Kitty Cafe! I'm not much of a Hello Kitty fan and didn't planned on going, that is, until I saw the pictures of the cafe posted on the Internet. I thought it was really really cute!

Caution: Hello Kitty Overload

I took close-up of all the cakes. Pay so much must take more pictures :p

And yet more kitty...

The kitty head is my favourite cake design!

Kitty serviette holder

Here come my kitty head cake. I totally choose based on cuteness. As Mr Bear puts it, irrational choice.

What funny is, the lady sitting besides me saw my cake and wanted to order the same one, then the lady who came a while later sitting near my table saw that lady order the kitty cake and wanted the same one too. All thanks to me :)

Totally kawaii ne! And surprisingly, it tastes delicious!

Comfy couch

I took this all by myself using the camera self-timer. So glad it turns out nice.

Portraits on the wall

Our bill. I totally forgot to take back the feedback form as a souvenir.

We were seated on the 2nd floor, but they have several different seating areas on the 1st floor. I took a picture with each of them.

Last picture with the kitty couch before going off

All thanks to Mr. Bear the cameraman in accord of his unduly patience for taking so many pretty pictures of me.

It started to rain heavily once we were out of the cafe. What luck! We decided to hold off going to Danshui and head for Eslite bookstore. The place is really really huge!

They were having a sale, much to my delight. I managed to grab Sister's Keeper and the new Sophie Kinsella book at a hefty discount. So elated! I wish we had more time to explore the place but we really wanted to go Danshui.

So we hurried back to the hotel to put our shopping bags and head for Danshui immediately though it was still raining. By the time we got there, it was already late evening and still drizzling. Several shops were already closed.

Along the streets of Danshui

Stopping for some quick bite

We stumbled upon Peter Rabbit gift shop. I love Peter Rabbit!

Shop selling lots and lots of cuddly teddy bears

Since it was already late and pitch dark, we decided to forgo going Fisherman's Wharf and go straight to Xi Men Ding for supper.

Off to the last day in Taiwan...
