Day 1 - 14th Oct 2011
We took the night flight at 1.15am to Perth. I bought my blanket, eye mask, ear plug and blankie up the plane, hence manage to rest a little. Carrying around my wedding gown was such a pain, sooo troublesome...is really a one-time unforgettable experience :/ made us so weary. It was worth it though, the photos looks promising. How I wish to see it soon!
I love looking outside the plane window for scenery like this. This, is what makes life worth living I think.
Yum.
Bearbear seafood meal...must remember next time not to order it for breakfast :/
After a long 5 hours plus flight, we arrive at Perth super early around 6.25am, and waited around the cafe a while for the rental car office to open.
My 2nd breakfast of the day, the biggest muffin I have ever seen!
We took a cab to Bayswater office to pick up our rental car. I did my research that it's the cheapest on the market, but a bit of a pain as it's located a distance away from the airport. Imagine us carrying 2 luggages, my night bag, my tote bag, his bag, my big ass puffy gown and his suit. It was truly an experience. Haha.

We opted for the GPS which was truly life-saving, a must in my opinion. I wouldn't know how to navigate without it. It looks filmsy at first sight but it works, really!
The small size GPS...
Filled up gas at the petrol station, then drove down to the CBD area to meet up with the Australian photographer and it was a nightmare. I heard about the crazy one way streets and it was as bad as they make it out to be! Crazy experience!
After droving around in circles, we manage to locate the MacDonald but there was no parking in near sight. So we drove off to find parking, found one, then sat down at an random cafe to discuss. Had my 3rd breakfast of the day. Enough of it :/
Our next stop for the day was the long long, and I mean really super duper long drive to Margaret River. The drive back to Perth wasn't that bad though. I guess we were just exhausted from the CBD experience, and a good night of sleep the night before probably helps.
I was the GPS navigator (very experienced due to years of GTA gaming) and Bearbear the driver.
Our memorable but long long and long drive timeline to Margaret River...

We stopped for our 1st break at this mall call Miami Plaza to stock up on groceries and most importantly, lots of bottled water!

We had our 2nd and last break at some random petrol station for fish and chips.

Scenery along the way to Margaret River...
We arrived at Cowaramup after about 4 hours 30 minutes of drive (coupled with 2 breaks in between). Drove for an hour then stopped, then drove another hour then stopped again. We stopped at this mall called Miami Plaza to stock up on groceries, and random gas station for fish and chips. The drive is estimated to be 3 hours plus without any stopping. We checked in at Noblegrape Guest House. Loved the place! Sweet cottage with calm and scenic surroundings. In fact, I like the town of Cowaramup more than Margaret River itself. It's such a great place to be.
We got upgraded to a king sized bedroom which was great!
Room number 3 at Noblegrape Guest House
After settling down, we decide to venture nearby to get dinner but the cafe was sooo expensive, we headed back to ask for directions and went over Margaret River town area instead. Ended up eating fast food since it was the cheapest. Ended eating Chicken Treat fast food for the next 2 nights! I forgot to pack some instant mee for backup :(
Our TV dinner...Love the cute chicken picture
Ended the night early after dinner. And so that's Day 1 in Perth!
