Day 1
We bought the tickets from Scoot waaay back in May. Although we always go for full-service airline for long distance flights, it was too good a deal to pass up. The flight wasn't a nightmare but was uncomfortable and I would not go for it again. Was glad there's was no delay though because they seemed to be plagued by frequent delays.
The flight was at an unearthly hour at 2.10am but we were at the airport early, to do some shopping and have supper at Mac before boarding the plane.
Of course, I also could not miss checking out the recently opened M&M world!
I spent almost half of the flight trying to sleep but obviously could not. The uncomfortable seating didn't help either. I did get some rest though and before you know it, it was breakfast time!
Bear's beef lasagne meal
Mine was creamy chicken stew with bread roll
The food wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad. It was decent enough to fill the stomach, but let just say it's not something you look forward to.
We arrived in Sydney airport at 12.40pm, then took a cab down to Meriton serviced apartment at Campbell Street.
After resting for a short while, we went for shopping since today was a late night shopping day! We took the free 555 bus down to the nearby shopping area.
Our first stop was at the foodcourt inside Westfield, which I heard raving reviews about. We tried out the Mexican burritos which was special and delicious! We also stumbled upon the famous Laduree inside the mall. I've been wanting to try the famed French macaroon for a long time and I finally got to!
After a quick bite, we walked to Queen Victoria Building...
After taking in the beautiful interior of Queen Victoria Building, we ventured down to the basement floor and stumbled upon a great shop called Victoria's Basement selling china and kitchenware at bargain prices.
We then walked the foodcourt inside Myers for another quite bite.
After an early dinner, we walked over to Strand Arcade. They have this great chocolate shop selling super delicious chocolates! I think we went about 4 times throughout our stay in Sydney. Lol.
Since it was late-night shopping day, we managed to squeeze in some more shopping before calling it a night. Our last stop was at the always favourite Woolworth supermarket at Townhall to stock up on groceries and snacks for our stay.
And so that's day 1!
