Day 2
Our first stop for the day was breakfast at Surry Hills. The weather was sooooo cold and we were standing there on the streets at the bus stop, waiting for the free 555 bus to take us to Surry Hills. It came eventually, and we gladly got on, taking in the warmth inside the bus.
I had done my research on great coffee cafes and pinpoint it down to Reuben Hills. It's wasn't hard to find, fortunately, the cafe was a brief walk down the street.
We were seated next to the heater and I was so happy! Lol.
Bear's latte
My hot chocolate
Soft baked eggs...we love it!
After a hearty breakfast, we did a slow stroll back to the bus stop down the street where we came from to catch the 555 bus. We decided to pop by the hotel so that I can change into more layers. It was such a cold day! We decided to stay indoors and go to Sydney Fish Market instead of Manly beach! I actually found out after we got back that the ferry was not running that day as it was raining almost thorough the day. We were lucky!
Darling Harbour was en-route to Sydney Fish Market and so we went there first. But it was raining, and raining and raining, we ended up seeking refuge inside the mall at Darling Harbour.
Of course, the rain could not deter us from our planned itinerary. It was getting late and everything will be closed by 6pm sharp if we don't hurry! Lol.
Amidst the rain, we crossed over the road to the opposite side of the mall to catch the light tram.
It was a short ride to Sydney Fish market...
And we ended up at Peter's...
And ordered sashimi, lobsters and fries for lunch. Yum.
After a delicious lunch, we walked back to the light tram station to catch the tram back to Darling Harbour. It was still raining then and we did not get to stroll around the outside area. Instead, we walked to the nearby Chinatown area and Paddy's market, but there was nothing much to see.
The rain had stopped by 3plus and since there was still time before everything closes, we took the 555 down to Circular Quay for Sydney Opera House.
We did a quick tour inside Sydney Opera House and ended up at the boardwalk outside.
Royal botanic gardens was just next to it and we did a stroll along the garden.
I thought this look like the kind of tree that only popped out in fairytale.
Sydney have its fair share of pretty bushes :)
We did a looong stroll from Circular Quay back to the CBD area, stopping on and off to look at the shops. We ended up at Westfield foodcourt again.
Loveee the pie! Now I'm craving for it as I see this photo!Arrgh.
With our stomach full after a quick bite, we continued our loong walk back to the hotel. We stopped by Townhall Woolworth on our way back, before going back to the serviced apartment.
